Bookkeeper
Position Summary
The In-House Bookkeeper at Dream Team Finishes is the daily financial engine of a growing specialty construction company. This role owns the day-to-day accounting operations — accounts payable, accounts receivable, job cost coding, payroll support, bank reconciliation, and AIA billing coordination — ensuring that every dollar is tracked accurately and every financial record is clean, current, and ready for review.
This is not a back-office afterthought. At Dream Team, the Bookkeeper is a critical team member whose accuracy directly supports Project Managers in the field, informs leadership decisions at the top, and protects the financial integrity of the company as a whole. The right person for this role loves systems, takes pride in clean records, and understands that in construction, financial precision keeps projects — and people — moving.
Core Identity: You get the numbers right the first time — and you check them anyway. Accuracy is not your goal; it is your standard.
Key Responsibilities
2+ years of bookkeeping experience; commercial construction industry experience strongly preferred
Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop or Online; Sage 300 CRE, Foundation, or Procore a strong plus
Working knowledge of job costing, AIA billing format, and construction AP/AR workflows
Strong attention to detail — accuracy and consistency are the primary performance standard
Experience with certified payroll and prevailing wage requirements is a plus
Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted
Ability to work independently, meet recurring deadlines, and maintain confidentiality of all financial information
Who You Are
Discreet | Financial data is confidential. You treat it that way without being reminded. |
Construction-Aware | You understand or are eager to learn AIA billing, job costing, and lien waivers. |
Quietly Confident | You don't need the spotlight. You need the books to be clean. |
Detail-Obsessed | You notice when a number is off by a dollar. That bothers you. Good. |
Reliable | Deadlines are not suggestions. Payroll runs on time. Reconciliations close on time. |
Systematic | You love a good process. You follow it exactly — every time, no shortcuts. |
Precise
| Your work is correct the first time. You verify it anyway before submitting. |
