Painter / Specialty Finishes Craftsman
Position Summary
The Painter / Specialty Finishes Craftsman at Dream Team Finishes is the hands — the person who turns design intent into a finished reality. This is not a roll-and-go painting job. Dream Team works on boutique hotels, luxury residences, Michelin-rated restaurants, and high-complexity commercial spaces where the finish is the feature.
This role requires a craftsman who understands surface preparation as well as application, who knows the difference between a good finish and a great one, and who takes personal pride in what they leave behind. At Dream Team, the work speaks for itself — and so does every person who does it.
Core Identity: You don't just paint. You finish. And you don't leave a surface until it's right.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare all surfaces properly before application — caulking, patching, sanding, priming, and cleaning as required
Apply commercial painting systems using brush, roller, airless, HVLP, and air-assisted airless spray systems
Install wallcoverings of all types — random-match, book-match, murals, and feature wallcoverings — with precision
Execute specialty finishes including plasters, lacquers, varnishes, lime washes, Roman clays, high-gloss finishes
Apply industrial coating systems including high-performance metal coatings, two-part epoxies, and intumescent coatings
Follow protection sequencing on every shift — mask, protect, and cover all adjacent surfaces before application
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite at all times
Operate aerial lifts, swing stages, and telehandlers safely with proper certification
Identify and communicate finish defects or substrate issues to foreman immediately — same shift
Follow all OSHA safety protocols; wear required PPE; participate in daily toolbox talks
Treat every project — hotel, restaurant, or distribution center — with the same level of care
Uphold Dream Team core values — Vision, Integrity, Relationships, Tenacity, Service — on every jobsite
